Hi Loves! I want to share with you my FAVORITE contouring brushes to help sculpt and define your face!
Contouring is one of my favorite steps in my makeup routine and can really make a huge difference in your facial features when applied correctly. I cannot stress enough that a light hand is key when contouring, AND DON’T FORGET TO BLEND!!
Ok, onto the good stuff!
My FAVORITE contour brush to use when I want a more defined look is the Nars Ita brush! The “Ita” has a unique thin shape, that is seriously amazing for precisely placing your contour powder directly into the hollows of your cheeks. The bristles on this brush are soft and dense which pick up your product well and makes blending a breeze. The handle of this brush is made of your standard Nars “rubbery” matte packaging. I would have preferred a wooden handle because like all Nars rubber packaging they tend to look a little dirty after a while. Nevertheless, this brush is amazing!
On days when I want more of a soft contour, I’ll reach for my MAC 168 Large Angled Contour brush. This brush is soft and slightly fluffy, and does a great job of picking up just the right amount of product for a natural finish. The bristles are made of goat hair and I haven’t had any issues with shedding. I LOVE that it’s angled because it’s easy to control and like the “Ita” brush it fits right into the hollows of your cheeks. FYI, this makes for a FANTASTIC blush brush as well!!
When applying a liquid or cream contour, I’ll use my beloved Sigma P84 Precision Angled brush. This brush is made of synthetic fibers making it ideal for liquid or cream products. However, I found it preforms just as well when using powder products too. I LOVE this small angled brush because it’s perfect for contouring down the sides of my nose and cheeks. You can also use this brush for applying concealer in hard to reach areas!
Happy contouring Loves!! 🙂
